Cilantro Lime Sauce (The Tangy Break That Saved Me from Vegetable Boredom)
My Story with This Recipe
There are days when eating vegetables feels less like nourishment and more like a duty.
That day was one of them.
I wasn’t craving junk, but I was honestly bored—same vegetable, same taste, same routine. I wanted something easy, something quick, and most importantly, something that could wake up my taste buds.
When I opened the fridge, I saw a bunch of cilantro and a lime lying quietly in the corner. Without much thinking, I decided to turn them into something different. I didn’t plan a recipe—I just followed my mood. What came out felt like a light soup-sauce hybrid: tangy, fresh, and comforting.
It solved two problems at once:
- No complicated cooking
- No boring taste
- Since then, this cilantro lime sauce has become my simple escape from everyday vegetable fatigue.
Simple Ingredients
- 1 bunch of fresh cilantro
- Lime or lemon juice (to taste)
- A pinch of cumin
- Roasted peanuts (a small handful)
- Yogurt (½ cup)
- 1 green chilli
- Salt as per taste
- (Optional:)
- A little water for adjusting consistency
Steps to Prepare
- Wash the cilantro and green chilli properly.

2.Roughly chop the cilantro.
3.Add cilantro, green chilli, cumin, roasted peanuts, and yogurt into a mixer jar.

4.Grind into a smooth, soup-like consistency.
5.Transfer to a bowl, add lime juice and salt, mix gently.
6.Serve this cilantro lime juice soup with wheat roti and butter, or use it as a sandwich spread or a dip.
That’s it.
No cooking. No standing in the kitchen for long.
